Two young men were almost burnt by a mob at about 10:55am at Ketu bus stop, Lagos, today (March, 8, 2017), for allegedly stealing a lady’s watch.
The arrival of this reporter who intervened in the issue saved the suspected wrist watch snatchers from being burnt by the mob that had thoroughly beaten up the two suspects and were about to set them ablaze.

One very negative behaviour common among some Nigerians living in Lagos is that, many are afraid to intervene in such situation unless they see someone who is brave enough to bell the cat. While the Ketu Divisional Police Station is located about 50 meters away from the point where the incident was happening near the popular Ikosi Road junction, the mob was not willing to hand over the suspects to the police, until this writer came and told them the implication.
A man among the crowd later added his voice to this writer’s opinion and the mob released the suspects as they (mob) claimed that taking the culprits to the station would have amounted to nothing but giving the police money for daily bread.

    1. Yes of course. They were both very lucky that God delivered them, otherwise they could have been in the land-of-see-me-no-more by now.
